Doclio on Your Phone or Tablet
Doclio is a fully responsive web app — it works in any modern mobile browser without installing anything. The interface automatically adapts to your screen size.
Getting Started on Mobile
- Open your mobile browser (Safari, Chrome, or Edge)
- Navigate to doclio.app
- Log in with your usual credentials (email and password, magic link, Google, or Microsoft)
Mobile Navigation
On a phone the navigation moves to a bottom tab bar for easy thumb access:
- Home — Your projects and overview
- Drawings — Drawing gallery and viewer
- Actions — Your annotation task list
- ITPs — Inspection and test plans
- Reports — Report builder and viewer
- Mailbox — Formal correspondence threads
- Settings — Your profile, appearance, and account
Costs and Programme also appear here when they're switched on for your account. If you've only been invited to a shared report rather than a project, you'll see a single Shared with me tab instead.
Add to Home Screen
You can install Doclio as an app on your phone or tablet — it gets its own icon and opens full-screen. See Installing Doclio as an App for the steps on iPhone, iPad, and Android.
Mobile-Optimised Features
- Drawing Viewer — Pinch to zoom, tap to add annotations
- Photo Capture — Take photos directly from your camera and attach to annotations
- Mailbox — Built to read like a normal mail app on a phone (see below)
The Mailbox on a phone
The Mailbox is the part of Doclio most likely to be used one-handed on site, so it behaves like the mail app you already know:
- The list shows the sender, the subject and a one-line preview. The reference number, recipients and due date live in the thread rather than the list.
- Folders are tabs across the top, with Inbox first. They hide while you're reading so the message gets the whole screen.
- Opening a thread marks it read. To put one back, use Mark unread in the thread menu.
- The list shows threads of every status by default. Tap the filter button beside the tabs to narrow by project, status, or whether a thread is waiting on you.
- Compose with the round + button in the bottom-right corner.
- Reply from the bar pinned to the bottom of a thread. The round button on its left switches between a reply and an internal note that's never emailed out; the box turns purple for a note.
- Tap the summary line under the subject for thread details — recipients, status, priority, owner, due date and the thread's reply-in address.
