Error Message Guide

Here are explanations for common error messages you might encounter.

"PLAN LIMIT REACHED" / "CAPACITY LIMIT REACHED"

This dialog appears when you hit a plan cap, with a message like "You've reached the active project limit for the Growth plan (3/3). Archive a completed project to free up a slot, buy overage capacity, or upgrade your plan." You've hit the maximum number of active projects or drawings/documents for your current plan.

Solution: Archive a completed project to free up a slot, upgrade your plan, or purchase overage blocks.

"You don't have permission to perform this action"

Your share permission level doesn't allow this action.

Solution: Ask the project owner to upgrade your permission from View to Comment or Edit.

"Failed to upload drawing"

The file upload failed. Common causes:

  • File is not a valid PDF
  • File exceeds the 25 MB size limit
  • Unstable internet connection β€” try again
  • Drawing limit reached β€” check your plan limits

"Session expired"

Your login session has timed out.

Solution: Refresh the page. If that doesn't work, log out and sign in again.

"Network error"

Unable to connect to the Doclio servers.

Solution:

  • Check your internet connection
  • Try refreshing the page
  • If the issue persists, Doclio may be experiencing temporary downtime β€” try again in a few minutes

"Payment failed"

Your payment couldn't be processed.

Solution:

  • Check that your card details are correct
  • Ensure your card hasn't expired
  • Contact your bank to confirm the transaction isn't being blocked
  • Try a different payment method
